Web design and UX, made in the Rogue Valley

Bespoke design,
built to run.

Steelhead Studio designs and builds bespoke websites and product experiences for businesses in Southern Oregon and anywhere else worth working. One designer, from first sketch to launch day, so nothing gets lost in a handoff and the thing that ships is the thing you signed off on.

Websites, start to finish

Design and build, one pair of hands. No handoff gaps, no telephone game between designer and developer.

UX and product design

Flows, prototypes, and interfaces for apps and tools. Grounded in how real people actually behave.

Brand refreshes

Logos, type, and color that make your business feel as good online as it does in person.

Care and iteration

Sites are living things. Updates, tune ups, and steady improvement after launch.

Riffle, a fly fishing companion

A Fishdex of 213 species with sourced forage profiles, offline-first catch logging, and a conditions read that turns weather and water data into honest advice instead of a wall of numbers. I shipped it solo as PM, designer, and engineer.

RV Live Music

Every venue around here posts their shows somewhere different, so nobody had the whole picture. This pulls from seven sources every four hours, sorts out the duplicates, and puts every show in one place. Free, fast, and it still works when the sources go down.

About

Hi, I'm Dayne

Steelhead Studio is a one person studio in Southern Oregon. I've spent eleven years as a product designer at places like Pearson, Lessen, Veho, and Trainual, shipping mobile apps, design systems, and tools people use at work every day. I also ship real code, which means the person who sketches your site is the same person who builds it, tests it, and answers the phone.

A website should do a job, not just look the part. A pretty site that doesn't bring you work isn't design; it's decoration. Around here your website is usually the first handshake, so it should feel considered and it should feel like you. When I'm not pushing pixels I'm usually standing in a river convincing trout that feathers are food.

Future client words go right here. We plan to earn them properly.
Your name, your business
Something like "the site paid for itself in a month" would look great in this spot.
